It is to be used when we believe someone is spiritually dead.

And yet we use it as casually as a napkin. Block disfellowship is nowhere mentioned or supported in the Bible, yet this is a standard "tool" used by many if not most CD congregations. Block disfellowship seems like a sort of "spiritual genocide" to me.

Jesus said "if you do it to the least of these, you have done it unto me". These words are frightening in their application to this issue. If you disfellowship someone whom you believe may still be a brother or sister of Christ, then you have disfellowshipped Christ. Who wants that on their slate at the Judgement Seat??

If you disfellowship someone you better be VERY sure that they fit the Biblical criteria for disfellowship.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10710485687450756896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14355716.post-36060597765005820972008-06-03T12:37:00.000+10:002008-06-03T12:37:00.000+10:00Hi Steve, I guess that I should address dear Siste...Hi Steve, I guess that I should address dear Sister Lucy as it has been a rough ride for her.

The Gospel and Grace are simple. It is only that men seek to control others that they devise documents saying what you should and shouldn't believe. In doing this they are running a great risk of defeating the good work that was done through the death and resurrection of Christ. They say that faith in Christ is not enough - that is anti-Christian and so very wrong.

Christ died to give us freedom from such people who seek to control what do, say and think.

Fortunately there are others who feel the same way and many who have left the Christadelphian Sect and who have found the true freedom of Christ elsewhere. It is important to understand that Christ didn't ask us to become Pharisees, but that is what has happened.

My encouragement is to surround yourself with Christians (even Christadelphians) who are non-judgemental and who do not seek to control who you can associate with.

As for those who wish to be Pharisees, leave them to their own future, for they will have to answer to Christ for all that they have done.

Praise God, Come Lord Jesus Come.

By Grace
GerryGerryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12487287445515827035noreply@blogger.com
